In the era of shifting to electronic vehicles in India,  many of auto companies are currently working to spread their wings in electric vehicle market of India. there are many companies such as Mahindra, Toyota, BMW, Maruti Suzuki, TVS, Lohia Auto Industries have launched their electronic vehicles in the form of Cars, Motorcycle and Scooters and bicycles etc.

Now, there are some auto companies which are going to launch their electric in India. It’s grabbing the attention that what would be the status of those companies in Indian Market and how can they provide the specific features with their models.

Now, Let’s have a look at the companies which are going to enter in India with their models. Hyundai Motors South Korea’s largest carmaker quite prepares to launch their electric cars at the upcoming Auto Expo.

Tata Motors The electric version of Tiago is expected to be launched at the next Auto Expo.

The concept of Tata Tiago is based on the LCV2017 ( Low Carbon Emission Vehicle Show) in Uk, featuring a liquid-cooled 85kW electric drive motor that produces 200Nm of torque. This electric car will be providing the high-speed 135kmph with 0-100kmph in less than 11 seconds. The weight of this model is 1040kgs which is less than the heaviest Tiago on sale in India. Tata Tiago EV is expected to be launched at Delhi Auto Expo 2018.

1- BMW i3

There are few upcoming electric cars in India, we can have a brief detail on these new launches.

BMW is going to present their i3 electric car model with attractive electric luxuries at the price level approximately 20 lakhs. This i3 model has 25KW electric motors with the lithium-ion battery. This model is made of a carbon fibre reinforced polymer body shell on an all-aluminium rolling type frame which keeps it ultralight. This i3b electric car is well capable to serve it’s customers with the high speed of 150kmph with a plus point that it reaches 100kmph of speed from the standstill in just 7.9 seconds.

2- Tata Indica Vista Electric

Tata Motors is gonna take this move of launching it’s Indica Vista Electric flagship model at around 6 Lakhs onwards which gets powered by its magnetic electric motor which is paired with a 26.5 kWh super polymer lithium-ion batteries. This model will be providing 55 kW of max power at 4,000 rpm & a torque of 160 Nm at 1750 rpm.The top speed of this car is 151 km and it can properly run 200 with a one time charge. It has the capacity of reaching at the speed of 30 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. This model is coming with its dual front bags, cargo area and a stylish interior with the seating capacity of 4 people(adult passengers).

3- Tata Mega Pixel

Tata’s Mega Pixel model is smart 4 seater hatchback will be coming with a manual transmission and at the price range of Rs. 5 Lakhs to Rs. 7 Lakhs.

4- Nissan Leaf-

Nissan Leaf electric model gets powered by a compact 48 laminated lithium-ion battery pack paired with a high performance of 80 kW AC synchronous electric motor. This electric car offers a range of 75 miles with a fully charged battery in 16 hours.

5- Chevrolet Volt-

The Chevy Volt has the capability to run up to 40 miles on the full charged battery in 13 hours on 120V and 4.5 on 240V.Now, there are some auto companies which are going to launch their electric in India. Challenges Faced by Electric Vehicles in India

  • India has almost 140 million vehicles an vehicular population alone contributes to the 30 to 35% of the total population. The Electric vehicle Industry in India(excluding e-Rickshaws), managed to sell 25,000 units during the financial year ended on March 2017, and motorbikes and scooters accounted for 23,000 vehicles while remaining 2,000 units were electric cars.

These are some of the challenges faced by Electronic Vehicle in India-

  • Charging Infrastructure

Charging Infrastructure for Electronic Vehicles in has India has not been properly developed yet.

  • Costs

The Battery technology used in electric cars inexpensive, the cost of battery technology could be less expensive if car makers ramp up production volume and use economies of scale, but for this process, there should be a proper number of consumers need to buy it.

  • Limited Range of Models

People are fond of various models of vehicles and electronic vehicles are available in a very limited range of their models.
